HOW PRACTICE DEVELOPS
OBSERVE THE PACKAGE
Begin with real packaging samples and identify the substrate, structure, panels, closure, print, finish, and likely handling needs.
READ THE FLAT LAYOUT
Trace the dieline and separate cut lines, crease lines, bleed, safe zones, panels, and glue areas before reviewing artwork.
BUILD AND COMPARE
Cut, score, fold, and assemble a simple mockup, then compare its dimensions, panel orientation, closure, and alignment with the plan.
RECORD THE FINDINGS
Use inspection notes and a basic specification to describe materials, dimensions, finishes, tolerances, defects, and questions that still require testing.
